Automobile manufacturer Skoda has commenced the production of its new Superb saloon and combi at the Kvasiny plant in the Czech Republic.
The manufacturer has upgraded and expanded the Kvasiny production facilities to accommodate the production of the new model vehicles.
Modernization process of the facility includes upgrade of the assembly and body shop with new equipment and tools, along with designing of the new test rigs for the final assembly that includes the test system for vehicle geometry.
Skoda production and logistics board member Michael Oeljeklaus said, "The whole team from production, planning, tool construction and logistics have done a fantastic job coming together to work on the fourth start of production this year alone."
The automaker has also improved the logistics process that supports direct delivery of the vehicle axles to the production lines through the 'Just-in-Sequence' process.
The new Skoda Superb sports new interior and improved technical features and is scheduled for launch with the saloon and Combi by end of June 2013.
According to the company, the consumption and emissions of the engines has decreased by about 19%.
