Concurrency Has Been Named to Microsoft's Elite Azure Circle

Today, Concurrency, Inc. announced it has been named to Microsoft's elite Azure Circle, a group of specialized Microsoft partner organizations that provide deployment planning services for organizations migrating to the public cloud.

Said Concurrency founder and president James Savage, "Cloud computing is as revolutionary in the 2010s as email was in the 1990s. Previously, up to 70% of corporate IT dollars were spent just to keep the lights on. Now cloud services allow companies to slash those 'maintenance' dollars and spend their IT budgets to boost business productivity. Now that Microsoft has rounded out its cloud-based services to include Infrastructure-as-a-Service offerings, that's true to an even greater extent."

In June, Microsoft announced major enhancements to Windows Azure cloud services, adding Infrastructure-as-a-Service to the previous available Platform-as-a-Service features. Windows Azure now has built-in open-source support for Linux-based Ubuntu and openSuSU, as well as Eclipse. Database support includes for SQL, Hadoop, MongoDB, and NoSQL. Supported language libraries include .NET, PHP, Node.js, Java, and Python.

Said Concurrency Infrastructure Practice Lead Nathan Lasnoski, "Because Microsoft can offer virtualization through its mature Hyper-V technology, corporate IT departments can now access the best of all worlds--stable virtualization with seamless integration with on-premises platforms, plus cloud-based support for open-sourced development frameworks and database environments from Oracle as well as Microsoft."

An award-winning Microsoft consultancy, Concurrency assists clients in migrating to cloud services, including Microsoft Office 365 (Applications-as-a-Service) and Windows Azure (Platform-as-a-Service and, newly, Infrastructure-as-a-Service). Microsoft and key partners such as Concurrency now offer formal deployment planning services (DPS) for Windows Azure. Existing Microsoft enterprise customers can leverage their Microsoft Volume Licensing benefits to engage Concurrency's cloud-services planning and support.

Customers can use Microsoft Software Assurance (SA) investments to receive training and consulting, and to develop assessment plans for applications to run on Windows Azure. A three, five, or 10-day "Public Cloud Jumpstart" program includes opportunities to:

- Learn about Microsoft's Public Cloud offering, Windows Azure and receive training for architects and developers.
- Evaluate your web applications and develop assessment plans for applications to run on Windows Azure.
- Evaluate Line of Business applications and develop assessment plans for applications to run on Windows Azure.
