The Swedish mechanical engineering company Vitech is bankrupt. A declaration to this effect was made on 11 February before the competent court inongermanlands. The supplier of sawmill-mechanisation plant, as well as its parent company Hammar Invest, had already been undergoing a restructuring process since 20 November. According to Swedish daily newspapers, the trigger for the bankruptcy which has now occurred was a claim asserted by one of its suppliers. Vitech‘s total debts are quoted at SKR4.4m. However, work in progress, for example the installation of new sorting plant at the Bollsta sawmill of the Swedish company SCA is to be completed.
