Nestlé Prepared Foods, a unit of Nestlé USA, is recalling a limited quantity of Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Chicken with Peanut Sauce as it may contain shrimp which is not mentioned on the label, according to the US Food and Drug Administration.
The product associated with the recall is Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Chicken bearing UPC code 13800 10154 and production code of 4165595911U, with best before date of July 2015.
It was distributed to retail customers across Washington, California, Louisiana and Texas
The recall has been initiated after it was found that Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Shrimp Alfredo was inadvertently placed into packaging for Lean Cuisine Culinary Collection Chicken with Peanut Sauce.
The move comes after Nestle was alerted about the issue by three consumers who purchased the mislabeled product.
No other Lean Cuisine products are affected by the recall.
Consumption of the recalled product may cause serious or life-threatening allergic reaction in people allergic or sensitive to shrimp.
