Bimbo Bakeries USA will shut down its production activities at its baking plant in Lubbock, Texas in early January 2017, affecting about 75 employees.
The baking company will move out its production from Lubbock to its Rockawall bakery located in Texas.
According to Bimbo Bakeries USA, the decision will not affect consumers or customers as the change is only confined to the production units while products will continue to be available as usual, PerishableNews.com reported.

Bimbo Bakeries USA region operations vice president Wayne Sager said: “Making the decision to close a facility is never an easy one.
“After careful analysis and consideration, we determined it is most efficient to redistribute production to other bakeries in our system to better meet market demand.”
Bimbo Bakeries USA said human resources personnel will discuss with impacted employees and union representations regarding severance and other benefits.
Sager added that the impacted associates will be helped throughout the transition period.
Recently, Bimbo Bakeries USA also announced that it would close its baking plant in Sunbury in Pennsylvania by the end of January 2017 which would affect 67 employees, reported The Daily Item.
Employing around 20,000 people, Bimbo Bakeries USA operates over 50 production facilities in the country, delivering its products in about 11,000 distribution routes.
Some of the brands of Bimbo Bakeries USA are Arnold, Bimbo, Boboli, Oroweat, Brownberry, Entenmann's, Freihofer's, Marinela, Heiners, Mrs Baird’s, Nature’s Harvest, Sara Lee, Thomas', Tia Rosa, and Stroehmann.
