Tablets Based on The Windows 8 on ARM OS Are at a More Advanced Stage of Development

Tablets based on the Windows 8 on ARM OS(Windows 8 RT)are at a more advanced stage of development than tablets based on Windows 8 running on Intel chips, reports Bloomberg.

"Microsoft has worked closely with Intel and our hardware partners,"says Microsoft spokesman Mark Martin,"we look forward to the new Atom-based offerings from Intel to complement the already strong Windows 8 and Windows RT ecosystem."

The report says that Microsoft has not approved any tablets using the Intel Clover Trail microprocessr which is Intel's x86 processor for tablets.

It is said that one reason for this is Intel's delayed delivery of power managment software for the Clover Trail chip which is described as a'bloated nightmare'by SemiAccurate.which claims the chip is larger than its ARM based alternatives despite being made on a 32nm process compared to the 40nm process used in the ARM-based alternatives.

Meanwhile Intel CEO Paul Otellini has ruffled Microsoft's feathers by saying Windows 8 is not ready for release. It is due to launch on October 26th.

It looks like being an interesting autumn.
