Japan-based vehicle manufacturer Kyokuto has started production of truck mixers and tipper truck bodies at its new plant at Veerapanenigudem, Vijayawada in India.
The new plant that was built in collaboration with Mithra group has an initial production capacity of 500 truck mixers and 1,000 tipper trucks.
Mithra Group chairman Maganti Subrahmanyam said," The venture will support the needs of construction and infrastructure projects by introducing superior technology and products."
Kyokuto makes special vehicles, environment management vehicles and solutions, and parking infrastructure and has 51% share in the company.
Kyokuto president and CEO Takaaki Fudetani said, "We expect to make a significant contribution to the construction and infrastructure sectors by introducing technologies developed by us over half a century."
The Kyokuto-Mithra venture expects to construction, mining and other special purpose vehicles for manufacturers like Ashok Leyland, Volvo, Diamler and Scania.
