Google Maps Received Positive Reception After Being Returned to The iPhone

Google maps has received positive reception after being returned to the iPhone.

The Google maps app returned to the iPhone after Apple replaced it with its own on iOS 6 in September.

The Apple map, however, received constant criticism and users reported missing famous landmarks and causing users to become lost.

Apple CEO, Tim Cook, publically apologised for the faulty map application.

Sources say Apple and Google had failed to come to an agreement over voice-enabled navigation, which then caused Apple to release its own.

The return to Google maps on iOS proved to be a triumphant one, with over 10 million downloads in less than two days.

"We're excited for the positive reception of Google Maps for iPhone around the world," Google's Jeff Huber announced in a blog.

"Congratulations to the Maps Team on the recognition for the passion and hard work they poured into it, for this release and over the last 7+ years."

Several features of the Google maps app, however, will remain available to Android users only. iPhone owners will not have the ability to download maps for offline viewing or access indoor maps and voice search.

To download the Google maps application users can visit iTunes or the Google app store.
