Ford is enhancing the audio system of its 2015 Ford Mustang with three audio systems: a six-speaker configuration, a nine-speaker system, and 12-speaker ShakerPro.
The car maker has also added lighter 6.5-inch door speakers in the fastback as a part of the premium speaker configuration.
The nine-speaker system or the premium audio system has a speaker placed in the top of the instrument panel to provide speech clarity and improved vocal. It also consists of a second speaker to each door to improve fidelity.
The 12-speaker Shaker Pro consists of 12 polymer cone speakers and will be available in Mustang GT Premium and Mustang EcoBoost Premium. The set consists of woofers in the rear portion along with a subwoofer to intensify bass response which is fitted in the corner of the trunk.
Ford multimedia systems supervisor Joe Kafati said: "We took advantage of our new acoustics lab to tune the equalization modes for each system to provide improved clarity across all frequency ranges and in different driving conditions.
"The lab provides us with a consistent baseline for measuring the response of audio systems with a wide variety of music and spoken word content."
