German sports car manufacturer Porsche has reported sales of 12,225 vehicles in January 2014, a 1.4% increase, compared to the same month in 2013.
The growth was driven by the company's 911 models, the third generation of Boxster model and the new model generation of the Panamera model.
In the Chinese market, the carmaker reported an increase of 29% sales in January, compared to the same period in 2013, with over 4,000 vehicles sold.
Porsche also reported the sale of 5,800 new cars to new customers in Asia Pacific, Africa and Mideast region in January, an increase of 14%. It achieved a growth of 10% in Germany with sales of nearly 1,500 vehicles.
However, the company experienced an 8% decline in the sales in American mainland and Europe.
Porsche sales and marketing executive board member Bernhard Maier said: "We take a confident look to the coming months and are convinced that we will again enjoy annual growth in 2014. The decisive drivers will be our extended product range and our expanded dealer network."
