American Waste Control has joined forces with other businesses for the ‘unboxing Christmas campaign’ in a bid to encourage Oklahomans to recycle Christmas packaging.
About four million pounds of recyclable products have been collected by the Oklahomans, which will be sent to the Sandy Hook School fund and the Salvation Army, news9.com reported.
American Waste Control CEO Tom Hill said, "You know, you want to take care of your own, but at the same time, with a disaster of that nature, you want to reach out to those who are suffering."
American Waste, which hopes to raise several thousand dollars, collected more than what it did in 2012.
