Tata Motors and Diesel & Motor Engineering have jointly launched vehicles belonging to the PRIMA series in Sri Lanka.
The launch is aimed at industries that provide services including the container movement, cement transportation and the gas logistics in the country.
Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles Business Unit executive director Ravindra Pisharody said the revamped infrastructure in Sri Lanka makes it possible for transporters to gain the benefit of the Tata PRIMA trucks with higher power, speed and carrying capacity.
"This new range from Tata Motors will meet the changing needs in the Sri Lankan market," Pisharody added.
Vehicles rolled out by the companies in Sri Lanka include the Tata PRIMA's 4023 LX, 4923 LX, 4028, 4938, 4038 and 4928 models, along with the tractor-trailers, tippers, and special application vehicles.
The Tata PRIMA vehicles have been developed by companies including South Korea based Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles and UK based Tata Motors European Technical Centre along with the Tata Motors.
