Work uniforms and facility services provider UniFirst Canada Ltd. said it has acquired Canadian company and Ontario based McGuire Uniforms.
“The acquisition unites two of Canada’s largest suppliers of direct purchase programs for customised employee workwear,” UniFirst informed in a press release.
The businesses will operate under UniFirst Canada Ltd. and will continue to maintain all of their current facilities.
Also headquartered in Ontario, UniFirst Canada is a wholly owned entity of US based UniFirst Corporation and has over 20 branch and satellite offices across Canada.
UniFirst has been supplying uniforms in Canada for more than 30 years, beginning as Unitog Canada Ltd., which was purchased by UniFirst Corporation in 1986.
According to UniFirst Canada, the McGuire acquisition will nearly double its current direct-purchase program.
“We are excited about the addition of McGuire and welcome the opportunity to provide the quality products and service, their customers have come to expect,” said Tim Sullivan, general manager at UniFirst Canada.
“McGuire Uniforms has been in business for over 20 years and has leveraged superior relationships and customer service to achieve consistent and steady growth during that time,” he added.
UniFirst together with its subsidiaries, also provides first aid and safety products, and manages specialised garment programs for the cleanroom and nuclear industries.
UniFirst produces its own branded workwear, protective clothing, and floorcare products, and with over 225 service locations and 275,000 customer locations, outfits more than 1.5 million workers each business day.
