Volvo Has Expanded Its Facilities by Adding 56,500m2 Base of Operations in Peru

Swedish firm Volvo has expanded its facilities by adding 56,500m2 base of operations in Peru.

The new facilities have been built with an investment of $17m and will be used for the commercial and after-market activities supporting Volvo, Mack and UD vehicles, Volvo Buses and Volvo Penta marine and industrial engines.

According to the company, the Peruvian facility is the first multi-brand operation of the Group in South America.

The features of the new facility include a training center for service technicians and drivers/operators, equipped with equipment and training infrastructure for the Volvo, Mack, UD and Volvo Penta.

Volvo said that about 2,040 of its trucks were sold in Peru in 2011 and its truck fleet in the region consists of nearly17,500 trucks.
