Lyons Motor Car is planning to unveil world's fastest car dubbed LM2 Streamliner at the New York International Auto Show.
According to the company, no US based carmaker could have competed against Bugatti, Pagani, Ferrari and Lamborghini but the company claims that it will be able to compete against big foreign brands.
The car is likely to be powered by a 1,700 hp twin turbocharged 8.2-L V8 engine. According to company founder Kevin Lyons, the car will be able to accelerate from 0-60 mph in 2.2 seconds and will be able to attain top speed of 290 mph (467 km/h).
However, the car is in prototype stage and is likely to have a production version in future.
Gizmag cited Lyons as saying: "the car has the most advanced fully microprocessor-controlled electrical system ever, and that it is built without chassis wiring harnesses, breakers, relays, fuses, buttons, toggle switches or levers.
"Users will control the vehicle settings via a 16-in touchscreen control center mounted on the dash or via a mobile app on their smartphone."
