e-Waste, LLC, an end-of-life technology waste management company located in Hudson, Ohio, has been selected by the Ohio Schools Council (OSC) to be the premier electronics recycling and data eradication company to represent a consortium of 161 school districts, educational service centers, joint vocational districts and developmental disabilities boards in 28 counties of northern Ohio. e-Waste was chosen from a group of eleven other companies across the U.S. who submitted proposals in response to the Ohio School Council's RFP.
"We are very honored to have been given the opportunity to manage the end-of-life technology for members of the Ohio Schools Council," states Jim Cleveland, e-Waste President and CEO. "The combination of our flexible and efficient services with our past experience servicing educational institutions will allow schools to continuously supply their students with the newest technology to support the advancement of their education."
e-Waste will provide auditing, data eradication and recycling services on end-of-life electronic assets to protect OSC members' sensitive information from data breach. Each piece will be tested, tracked and reported in a final report including, but not limited to, serial numbers, asset tag numbers and the date the equipment was decommissioned to satisfy the Sarbanes-Oxley 404 asset disposition tracking clause. Detailed auditing and inventory will be performed on all equipment to ensure data destruction has been performed on all data bearing devices using DoD 5220.22-M 3x overwriting or physically destroying the device.
e-Waste has recently obtained R2 (Responsible Recycling) and ISO 14001:2004 certifications to provide an even greater value of security and accountability when processing valuable electronic assets. The certifications require e-Waste and its approved downstream vendors to properly handle and dispose of all materials to ensure the safety of the environment and employees. e-Waste recycles 100% of the assets serviced and operates according to a zero-landfill policy.
