Ganeden has again broken new ground with the announcement that GanedenBC30 has earned Non-GMO Project Verification.
The international ingredient manufacturer worked with the Non-GMO Project to put its probiotic strain through rigorous third-party evaluation, confirming that the ingredient is completely non-GMO.
The probiotic company has been a driving force in promoting education and transparency around high-quality food and beverage ingredients. In addition to its Non-GMO Project verification, GanedenBC30 has been certified kosher, halal, gluten free, and is completely allergen free.
It was also the first spore-forming probiotic to receive Generally Recognized as Safe (GRAS) status from the Food & Drug Administration (FDA) confirming the safety of the science-backed strain, and was the first probiotic to receive a strain-specific USP monograph, detailing specifically how to enumerate and identify the strain.
"The proper labeling of GMOs has been in the spotlight over the past several years," said Mike Bush, president of Ganeden and executive board president of the International Probiotics Association "Ganeden wants to ensure that manufacturers and consumers alike are aware that the use of GanedenBC30 ensures transparency, compliance with laws and peace of mind. Becoming Non-GMO Project Verified is yet another example of our dedication to the probiotic market, our partners and their customers."
GanedenBC30 became a game-changer in the industry when Ganeden announced that the unique probiotic strain could survive in foods and beverages outside of the refrigerated dairy category-a feat never before accomplished.
The survivability, efficacy and easy formulation of the strain has opened up endless opportunities for food and beverage manufacturers to add probiotics to products that were never able to include them before-leading to more than 500 launches in retail worldwide.
Going beyond its clean ingredient certifications, extensive research on GanedenBC30 shows the strain may provide a variety of health benefits, including supporting digestive and immune support.
Currently, the company has over 120 patents and 24 peer reviewed and published studies on the probiotic strain, which have been reviewed by dozens of leading authorities in probiotics, microbiology and digestive and immune health.
Most recently, it was found that the strain enhances protein utilization and helps with muscle recovery, making it the first probiotic to support protein utilization claims.
