Spectrum Analyser Claiming It to Be The Best Probability of Intercept Available

Agilent has announced real-time spectrum analysis which can detect intermittent signals of 3.57µs duration, claiming it to be the best probability of intercept (POI) available.

The analyser runs on the firm's PXA X-Series signal analysers.

Spectrum Analyser Claims Best Probability of Intercept"In applications such as radar, electronic warfare and military communications, POI is the key benchmark for real-time signal analysis," said the firm.

PXA has 75dB spurious-free dynamic range across analysis bandwidths of up to 160MHz. "This enables users to place deep and wide measurements anywhere within a measurement range of 50GHz," claimed Agilent.

Sensitivity is -157dBm at 10GHz (no preamp), and resolution bandwidth can be varied within a measurement span.

89600 VSA software is available for later more detailed analysis, and also provides connections to the firm's vector signal generators and arbitrary waveform generators to play back captured signals.

The real-time upgrade comes in two versions, both available now: N9030AK-RT1 working up to 85MHz bandwidth, and N9030AK-RT2 for 160MHz.
