Chinese smartphone maker ZTE plans to ship over 60 million smartphones globally this year, to grab more share in a highly competitive market dommunated by Samsung and Apple.
Senior Vice President Zhang Renjun said that the company shipped about 40 million smartphone last year.
According to third-quarter data from IDC and Gartner, ZTE, who competes with cross-town tival Hwawei in the telecom equipment and mobile device business, fell out of the top five global smartphone vendors list last year.
At home in China, the world's largest mobile phone market with more than one billion users, ZTE competes with both Samsung and Huawei, as well as domestic maker Levno, Huwawei and Xiaomi.
