Tesla has introduced Model S 70D, an entry-level all-wheel drive electric car, which is more expensive than its current starter vehicle.
The car will have a starting price of $75,000 and will feature 70KW battery which will facilitate the car to go from 0-60mph in 5.2 second and provide 240 EPA.
According to reports, buyers in the US will be eligible for a federal tax credit which is likely to bring down the price of the car to just $67,500, though it is still high when compared to Model S, which starts at $70,000.
The company said that cost of owning would be about $55,000 over five years (the average length of new car ownership).
Tesla highlighted that Model S 70D will have broad and compelling set of features, which includes independently operational front, and rear motors.
It also includes Autopilot hardware, navigation, blind spot detection, and Supercharging to enable free long-distance travel.
Tesla also announced that the car would get software over-the-air, which is likely to enhance the driving experience of the car in coming years.
