Sony today launced the new VAIO Fit PC in the UAE, which features a multi-flip hinge that transforms the PC to tablet or viewer modes while offering the functionality of a traditional clamshell laptop.
Now available at select electronics stores in the UAE, the new VAIO Fit multi-flip PC series is available in 15-inch, 14-inch and 13-inch screen sizes.
The VAIO Fit’s laptop mode delivers the same performance as conventional notebook PCs, Sony says.
The viewer mode allows the user to share the experience of watching a video or movie with another viewer.
“We believe that a tablet fits better in the ‘mobile’ category than a laptop,” said Aadil Shaikh, Manager, Marketing, Vaio Marketing Department, Sony Middle East and Africa FZE. “The VAIO Fit multi-flip combines the productivity of a laptop with the mobility of a tablet, and with the viewer mode that it also encompasses, this is a streamlined mobile device that has everything.”
The PC’s chassis is constructed with an aluminium hairline finish. The notebook comes with a full-pitch keyboard, touch pad and palm rest, and is available with either a 14-inch or 15-inch screen.
It also has a backlit keyboard and digitiser stylus and comes pre-loaded with a trio of apps. After shooting and reorienting images on CamScanner, users can then clip out the subject of the image using VAIO Clip and write memos on top of the images with their digitiser stylus in VAIO Paper.
It features an Exmor RS for PC imaging sensor, which enables high-resolution image capture of documents. The back-illuminated CMOS sensor also ensures there is reduced noise in low-light situations.
It also sports a TRILUMINOS display for mobile and X-Reality for mobile, adapted from technology used in the Sony BRAVIA 2013 range of TVs. The VAIO Fit multi-flip PC is also powered to deliver dynamic bass and soaring highs without distortion with the ClearAudio+ mode, Sony says.
By hovering compatible NFC products over the PC, the user can stream music from the PC directly to his/her NFC speakers.
