DuPont launched a new Science & Technology speakers bureau in conjunction with its annual Technology Conference this week in Iowa. The conference brings together scientists, engineers and marketers from around the globe for a week of collaboration and idea exchange on how DuPont science can solve the world's toughest challenges.
The new speakers bureau is a collection of world-renowned technical experts in diverse scientific disciplines from molecular biology to nanotechnology, from organic chemistry to materials science.
The speakers bureau also showcases how the company applies its integrated science to create solutions in a wide range of fields from agriculture to biofuels from solar energy to low global-warming refrigerants.
DuPont focuses its world-class scientists and engineers on the market opportunities where integration of DuPont’s depth in biology, chemistry and materials will have the highest impact in addressing global market needs for food, protection and energy.
“DuPont has assembled a truly impressive list of inspirational individuals available to share insights about how science is helping solve the world’s greatest challenges,” said Douglas Muzyka, senior vice president and chief science and technology officer.
“Our scientists and engineers continue to provide the knowledge and ingenuity to create new solutions through integrated science, innovation and collaboration,” Muzyka added.
With a rapidly growing population, the world needs scientists and engineers to invent and innovate in new ways to feed, protect and energize society more than ever before. “Market-driven science means companies have to be close to their customers, grow where they are growing, and for DuPont that means having the team of nimble experts ready to innovate in every major field of science,” said Muzyka.
DuPont has over 10,000 scientists and engineers and spent more than $2.0 billion in Research and Development (R&D) in 2012 and operates over 150 R&D centers around the world.
DuPont has been bringing world-class science and engineering to the global marketplace in the form of innovative products, materials, and services since 1802. The company believes that by collaborating with customers, governments, NGOs, and thought leaders we can help find solutions to such global challenges as providing enough healthy food for people everywhere, decreasing dependence on fossil fuels, and protecting life and the environment.
