US producer and seller of seafood, King & Prince Seafood is set to adopt environment-friendly packaging made from natural kraft fibers in place of bleached whiteboard corrugate shipping containers.
The company adopted the new packaging as it is easily recycled and uses less energy and fewer chemicals in its manufacture when compared to the cartons, perishablenews.com reported.
King & Prince Seafood president Volker Kuntzsch said the company is working to take up a responsible role in protecting the environment.
"That includes every aspect of our business, from finding and developing sustainable sources for our seafood, to our production processes, as well as our packaging," Kuntzsch added.
The packaging color will be changed from white to brown and product formulations will be the same.
