Danish agricultural co-operative company, Arla Foods is expanding its product portfolio with the launch of Quark, a fat free cheese range in the UK.
The popular soft-cheese in Europe has now entered UK market, as the demand for low fat cheese has been increasing. It is being viewed as an alternative to other cheeses such as ricotta and mascarpone.
As the new product range Quark is relatively an unknown food ingredient in UK, the product has been launched with recipe suggestions.
Arla also plans to launch online videos with quick, easy and healthy recipes using Arla Quark cooking cheese.
Arla Foods UK Cheese team senior brand manager James Prentice said: “With health and wellbeing so much on the agenda and the growing popularity of quark as a healthy ingredient to cook with, we believe Arla Quark is launching at just the right time to capitalise on this trend.
“Arla Quark is the perfect example of Arla’s commitment to provide healthy innovation from milk and the cheese team has further plans for more Arla branded cheese innovation in the future.”
Right from the introduction of Arla brand in UK in 2015, the company has introduced a wide range of innovative and healthier dairy products such as Arla Best of Both, Arla skyr and Arla Protein in the categories of fresh milk, drinks and yogurts.
In the beginning of this year, the company had come out with its Strategy 2020, where it committed to extend the pipeline of healthier dairy products with 30 new dairy concepts and 50 new range extensions.
