Italian pasta maker Barilla is planning to expand its production plant in Ames, in the US state of Iowa which will see an investment of around $26.5m.
The expansion, which is expected to create 23 new jobs, will also receive financial assistance from the Iowa Economic Development Authority.
Work under the expansion includes the installation of two new production lines and new packaging equipment, as well as construction of raw storage space.
Expected to become operational by October, the production lines will produce gluten-free pasta which will be distributed across the US, Australia, Canada, Brazil and Mexico, Ames Tribune reported.
Barilla currently employs 162 people at its Ames plant, which is said to be capable of producing up to 125,000 tons of pasta annually, the publication said.
Currently, Barilla owns 30 production sites and exports to more than 100 countries.
