Sequel Naturals, an establishment based in Burnaby, British Columbia, is recalling Vega Sport brand Protein Bar as the product contains milk which is not mentioned on the label, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA).
The recall affects Vega Sport Natural Plant-based Protein Bar Chocolate Coconut of 60g that bears Lot Code 12296C and UPC code 8 38766 10830 8 with Best By Date 19-NOV-13.
This product has been distributed nation wide and to date there has been one reported allergic reaction.
Customers intolerant to milk are advised not to consume the recalled product as it may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction, if they consume.
The distributor Sequel Naturals is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the market, while the CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
