French automotive logistics firm Groupe CAT has commissioned US-based technology firm Axway with devising a system to improve schedule and delivery of finished vehicles, motorcycles and spare parts across its network of manufacturers and dealerships spanning 26 countries.
Groupe CAT, which puts to use Axway's B2B and electronic data interchange (EDI) systems to schedule and deliver its merchandise, will upgrade its system and let its operations gradually fall in line with the new platform with a secure migration.
The system calls for a constant flow of communication as a message linked to customer order is crucial and time sensitive.
Groupe CAT IT architect and integration manager Radouane Brigui said: "Previously we had a heterogeneous system with a variety of communication tools. With the Axway 5 Suite, we can acquire and integrate other data flows and have a holistic real time view of our data flow governance."
The company has already implemented Axway B2Bi under Axway 5 Suite to usher in the digital business era and claimed to have ensured end-to-end data flow traceability.
Axway global marketing - executive vice president Dean Hidalgo said: "Our experience working with global supply chain and logistics companies places us in a strong position to help companies like Groupe CAT reach their business goals.
"By selecting Axway 5 Suite to effectively govern its data flows, Groupe CAT ensured that it is able to meet the needs of its network of customers and partners and continue to grow on a global scale."
