Germany's Schubert Introduces Flowmodul Packaging Machinery at Fackpack 2016

Germany-based firm Schubert has introduced new packaging machinery, Flowmodul, for horizontal flow wrap packaging at the FachPack 2016 held in Nuremberg, Germany.

The flexible, space-saving solution is designed to allow packaging of products, for the food, confectionery, pharmaceutical and cosmetic industry into flowpacks.

The company said that the Flowmodul sets all-new standards in primary packaging in terms of quality control, efficiency, space requirements and flexibility.

Developed to be operated without an electrical cabinet, the Flowmodul

Initially, a scanner detects position, rotational position, shape, color and the volume of each product following which the products’ data is transferred to the F4 robots.

Upon picking from the running product belt, the robot will position the products in the Flowmodul’s feed system.

Schubert said that the Flowmodul’s speed is determined in response to the product flow.

The product feed comprises a flexible, fully automatic adjustable chain which allows products to be carried on toothed belts.

The firm said in a statement: “The the types of possible product formations within a flow-wrap bag format are close to unlimited and can be easily programmed.’

The Flowmodul is also designed to allow seamlessly integration of the packaging of flow-wrap bags into a Schubert’s Top-Loading Machine (TLM) packaging machine.

Employing 1,050 people, Schubert supplies packaging and filling machines as well as thermoforming, filling and closing machines for products of any type from a variety of industries.
