The Jaguar XJR nameplate is returning as the British brand’s flagship performance model.
A single image of the new-generation Jaguar XJR has been revealed ahead of the high-performance limo’s debut at next week’s 2013 New York motor show.
Jaguar is providing few details for now, except to say the XJR will be powered by the same 405kW supercharged 5.0-litre V8 used by the XKR-S sports car and that it benefits from suspension and aerodynamic developments.
The company says the new XJR will be “the most focused, agile and responsive XJ ever made”.
In addition to the black mesh grille and lower central air intake, the Jaguar XJR picture points to a lowered ride height and bigger wheels compared with other variants in the line-up.
The XJR will complete Jaguar’s R line-up across its three-model range, joining the XFR and XKR.
