Cadillac, a luxury automobile and SUV division of US automaker General Motors (GM), has announced plans to improve in-vehicle connectivity by adding OnStar 4G LTE and the CUE Collection suite of applications.
The company will initially roll out its 2015 ATS Coupe with both advanced technologies in summer 2014, followed by other 2015 models throughout the second half of the 2014 calendar year.
OnStar 4G LTE is a built-in connection that enables vehicle users access online content and information through a Wi-Fi hotspot. The capacity of the technology is up to seven devices.
CUE Collection is a new in-car app, which can be accessed through an icon on the eight-inch LCD touch screen. It can organize, update or delete user-downloaded apps throughout the life of the vehicle.
Cadillac CUE is currently available on base models and standard on ATS Coupes.
In the 2015 models, new features of the CUE include new enhanced content such as a Text-to-Voice feature for smartphone users with Bluetooth profile (MAP).
It also enables the passengers to create and save their own preset responses when the vehicle is in Park.
