OfficeMax Australia has made the first move to extend its business model beyond the confines of a traditional office products supplier with the acquisition of private print management businesses Complete Print Solutions (CPS) and Foxprint Solutions, the latter jointly owned by CPS and Linfox Australia.
The acquisition will create a new division for the company – OfficeMax Marketing Services – and will see the CPS business in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide and the Melbourne-based Foxprint business operate under the OfficeMax brand, effective immediately.
OfficeMax managing director for Australia & New Zealand Charles Agee said: “Our clients are asking us to expand in multiple directions, with print management and corporate identity among the services they’re requesting most frequently. We saw a fantastic opportunity to extend our offering to marketing services, and acquiring CPS and Foxprint was a logical first step."
As part of the agreement, OfficeMax will take over all existing client contracts across a base of government, corporate, entertainment, manufacturing, FMCG, financial services, logistics and pharmaceutical sectors.
“From our heritage as a paper manufacturer 43 years ago, we have progressed to paper supplier and workplace solutions. Providing a broad spectrum of print and marketing solutions is a natural extension of that core business. This is the foundation on which we will build and continue to invest – in areas that drive shareholder return and value for our clients. It will be an exciting year ahead,” he said.
