Dmitry V. Zaliznyak was born in 1907 in Zhytomyr region. He worked as a draftsman-designer Tokarovskogo Porcelain Factory named after 1 May in the Kiev region. He graduated from the Kiev Institute of Chemical Technology. From 1934 to 1945 he worked at the glassworks Chagoda mechanized Vologda Oblast, RSFSR. On behalf of the Gomel Glass Zaliznyak Stalin was transferred in December 1945, a year was appointed chief engineer of the plant. In 1954, he became Director of the State of the Union Gomel glass factory named after Stalin.
He was directly involved successfully addressed issues of rehabilitation and reconstruction of the plant. Already by 1960, the company nearly 12 times increased the gross output. During his time as director Zaliznyak plant became great technically equipped enterprise, occupying a leading position in the glass industry.
