Norway-based seafood processor Marine Harvest has appointed the CFO from rival Leroy Seafood to become its finance chief.
Ivan Vindheim will join Marine Harvest in August. He replaces Jørgen Kristian Andersen, who steps down next month.
"The change of CFO is a result of the need to have the CFO function located together with the rest of the group management at the headquarters in Bergen," Vindheim said. "Marine Harvest will maintain the office in Oslo where group finance and some other group functions will remain."
Marine Harvest saw sales increase in 2011 but a fall in spot prices for salmon in the second half of the year hit profits.
In the first quarter of 2012, prices increased slightly from the last three months of 2011 but Marine Harvest still reported a fall in year-on-year sales and EBIT.
