Mazda to Unveil Two Concept Models at Tokyo Motor Show

Japanese automaker Mazda will be showcasing its two new concepts Kai Concept and Vision Coupe at the upcoming Tokyo Motor Show to be held between 28 October and 5 November in Japan.

The Mazda Kai Concept is a compact hatchback, which is powered by SKYACTIV-X gasoline engine and is claimed to incorporate new technology, engineering and design concepts.

Mazda says that the new concept hatchback has been refined in many areas, the result being a car which is very quiet, comfortable to ride with enhanced level of performance.

The concept car is also claimed to feature a muscular body, whose form has been enhanced by a dedicated flow of reflections over the body sides.

The second vehicle, the Vision Coupe, according to Mazda is the design vision for its next generation models. The coupe is claimed to have been designed to be in line with Japanese aesthetics for elegance and styling.

Mazda said in line with its Sustainable Zoom-Zoom 2030 long-term vision for technology development, it intends to use the fundamental appeal of the automobile to inspire people.

In September, Mazda joined hands with Toyota and Denso for a joint development of electric vehicles. As per the agreement, the three companies will establish a joint venture company, named EV C.A. Spirit Corporation.

The new company will base its technology on Toyota New Global Architecture (TNGA) platform and will include minivehicles, passenger vehicles, SUVs and light trucks.
