Dole Philippines (Dolefil), a subsidiary of Dole Packaged Foods Worldwide, has received Rainforest Alliance (RFA) certification for its sustainable agricultural practices and environmental conservation initiatives.
This development comes after an audit that was conducted from 21 - 25 May.
Dolefil's fresh and processed fruit operations are also certified for its compliance with the sustainable agriculture network chain-of-custody requirements and ability to maintain RFA certified products to be manufactured without impact on the environment.
Dolefil vice president and managing director Simon Denye said: "This Certification stands as a testament to Dolefil's long-term commitment to the ideals of conservation and social well-being basic to sustainable development."
Dolefil is one of only two RFA certified companies in the Philippines.
Dole Packaged Foods, a subsidiary of Dole International, is engaged in sourcing, processing, distributing and marketing fruit products and healthy snacks worldwide. The company markets a full line of canned, jarred, cup, frozen and dried fruit products.
