Arctic Cat, the all-terrain vehicle manufacturer, has signed a deal with Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Yamaha Motor for the supply of engines.
The agreement includes the expansion of the supply of 123cc 4-stroke engines manufactured by Yamaha till 2014, which will be used to power the Arctic Cat's youth snowmobile.
Both the companies first signed the deal to supply engines in 2009 that has been expanded.
Arctic Cat vice president and general manager for Snow Division Brad Darling said: "The engine purchase agreement with Yamaha, combined with the engines that we plan to manufacture in house, will provide Arctic Cat's customers with the most well-rounded engine choices when it comes to technology, reliability and horsepower."
A co-branding agreement started in 2012 has also been expanded by the companies under the deal, according to which Yamaha will produce 2014-model of the SRX 120 youth snowmobiles at Arctic Cat's Thief River Falls factory in Minnesota, US.
The 2014-model of the SRX 120 youth snowmobiles will be powered by the Yamaha's 4-stroke engines.
In December 2012, the Arctic Cat unveiled the Wildcat 4-1000, a recreational off-highway vehicle (ROV) in the US.
