Volkswagen has reported 6.5% rise in its sales to 801,000 vehicles in September 2012, compared to 751,900 vehicles it sold during same period in 2011.
From January to September 2012, the company's sales increased 9.7% to 6.71 million, compared to 6.11 million units for the same period last year.
In China, Volkswagen sold 2 million cars for the first nine months of 2012, representing an increase of 18.5%.
From January to September, the company's sales in the North America region increased by 25.4% to 608,600 units, of which 431,600 were delivered in the US.
The automaker handed over 752,500 vehicles to customers in the South America region for the first nine months while in the Asia-Pacific region sales rose to 2.27 million vehicles.
For the first nine months of 2012, the Volkswagen Passenger Cars brand delivered 4.21 vehicles to customers worldwide.
