Prudential Group Insurance, a business of Prudential Financial, has named Andrew Sullivan as the new head of its disability business, with immediate effect.
Sullivan, currently spearheading the underwriter's small market business segment, will serve as senior vice president, disability and small market business, said the firm.
Commenting on Sullivan promotion, Prudential Group Insurance president Steve Pelletier said that in addition to his deep knowledge of the small market, Andy brings broad experience in the group disability space, including risk management, claims management, and operations.
"His proven leadership skills will be invaluable as we continue to position our business on a path of sustained, profitable growth, while addressing existing client and marketplace needs," Pelletier added.
The US insurer has assigned the task to oversee the group's business strategy, product development, underwriting, and claims management, as well as the company's absence management and return to work programs.
In September 2011, Sullivan came to Prudential Group Insurance's senior leadership team as senior vice president of the small market business segment.
Prior to the new role, he served at CareFirst BCBS, as the senior vice president of the consumer direct unit, and was senior vice president, individual & small group health segment at CIGNA before joining BCBS.
Prudential Group Insurance offers a wide array of group life, long-term and short-term disability, long-term care, dental, and corporate and trust-owned life insurance in the US.
