Bitsy's Brainfood, a new mom-run brand redefining "healthy" packaged organic food for kids, announces the addition of Smart Crackers to its lineup of healthy and educational snacks.
Made with organic vegetables, Smart Crackers come in three flavors: Cheddar Chia Veggie, Sweet Potato Cinna-Graham and Maple Carrot Crisp. Bitsy's Brainfood Smart Crackers are available exclusively at Target as part of the "Made to Matter" program, which features purpose-driven brands to make better-for-you product innovation accessible for all.
"Bitsy's asks the question 'Why should junk food have all the fun?'" said Bitsy's Brainfood co-founder Maggie Jones Patton. "Making healthy food both delicious and playful is the best way to help kids eat smart. And moms love that, with Bitsy's Brainfood, snack time can also be learning time."
Smart Crackers are an excellent source of Vitamins A, B6, B12, D and folic acid, as well as a good source of calcium and iron. Each of the flavors comes in puzzle shapes called tangrams that kids can use to make hundreds of designs.
As with all Bitsy's Brainfood products, healthy ingredients feature prominently in Smart Cracker flavor names so the "good stuff" isn't hidden from the kids who enjoy them.
"Just because a product is organic doesn't mean that it's healthy," said Patton. "We started Bitsy's because we believe that packaged food for kids must do better than organic flour, salt, and sugar - it must offer real nutritional value."
Bitsy's Brainfood bakes a half-serving of vegetables into each serving of Smart Crackers, and fortifies all of its products with organic-compliant vitamins. On shelves now at Target stores nationwide, Bitsy's Brainfood Smart Crackers come in three flavors:
Organic Cheddar Chia Veggie Smart Crackers are made with real organic carrots, sweet potatoes and organic cheddar.
Organic Sweet Potato Cinna-Graham Smart Crackers are made with real organic sweet potatoes, carrots, and a pinch of cinnamon.
Organic Maple Carrot Crisp Smart Crackers are made with real organic carrots and a hint of maple.
Bitsy's Brainfood products are Non-GMO and Certified USDA Organic. In addition, they are made in a peanut-free & tree nut-free facility in the USA, making them an allergy-friendly, shareable snack for school time, lunchtime, playtime or anytime at all.
Target has recognized Bitsy's commitment to clean labeling, attention to allergens and dietary restrictions, and lowering sugar content by selecting them as one of this year's Made to Matter brands, a program that was launched in 2014.
Smart Crackers join the lineup of other veggie-powered Bitsy's Brainfood products, including Smart Cookies - in three-dimensional alphabet shapes - and the first organic, gluten-free vegetable cereals for kids: Fruity Number Crunch and Berry Blast.
