Arrow Electronics has partnered with Germany-based wireless module supplier IMST to sell modules and offer design and certification services.
Arrow will market and distribute IMST’s wireless modules, as part of the deal Arrow will provide design support and certifications for wireless solutions.
“With IMST as part of our EMEA engineering solution centre, we can now offer our customers support both in the development and in the international certification of wireless products,” said David Spragg, vice president of engineering for Arrow in EMEA.
IMST offers a complete service chain for wireless product developments, starting from feasibility analyses, through system design to the realisation of different development levels (demonstrator, prototype, pilot production, production) in hardware, software and certification.
WiMOD
IMST supplies pre-certified WiMOD radio modules for the royalty-free ISM bands, including, for example, the iM871A-Wireless M bus module.
The module has a measured open-air range of 3,000 metres and minimum power consumption of 50nA when idle.
The module also achieves high ranges in buildings and fulfils the requirements regarding battery life in current smart-meter installations.
