The data from International Telecommunications Union shows that global internet users has reached 3 billion, accounting for over 40% of the world's total
The report says global internet using rate shows a steady growth of 6.6%. The number of users in developing countries increased fastest. In the recent 5 years, the Internet uses has doubled in developing countries. Two thirds of global Internet uses live in developing countries.
Though 3 billion people are using Internet, another 4 billion can’t have the access to Internet. Only 19% of people in Africa use Internet.
International Telecommunications Union says that by the end of 2014, global mobile phone users will reach 7 billion, almost the same as total population. However, not everyone in the world can own his mobile phone. Instead, some has more than one. At the same time , 450 million people live in areas where mobile-based information service hasn’t been covered.
