RIA NOVOSTI reported that Steel tycoon Mr Vladimir Lisin was re elected as president of the Russian Shooting Union in a secret ballot vote Tuesday.
Mr Lisin Russia's second richest businessman according to Forbes magazine was the only candidate in a poll that saw 67 delegates of the RSU conference cast their votes.
Two delegates abstained and 65 voted in favor of the 56 year old, who has been president of the RSU since 2002. Vasily Mosin's bronze in the men's double trap was Russia's only medal in 13 shooting events at the 2012 Olympic Games compared to four medals in Beijing in 2008 and 10 in Athens in 2004.
Mr Lisin said that I hope that after the end of this Olympic cycle we will meet with our mood improved. The coach of Russia's shooters Igor Zolotarev stated his intention to stand down after a poor showing at the Olympics and Lisin accepted his resignation in September.
He said that it is hard to find a new coach because of the poor competition between the domestic candidates and added that it is theoretically possible to invite a foreign coach.
