UK - Bristol's flagship venue Colston Hall has completed a £20m redevelopment project which "fuses stunning contemporary architecture with the historical splendour of the 145 year old building". This has created a range of new meeting and conference spaces, putting the South West of England on the map of international event organisers.

The most notable external change is the glass-fronted foyer building, finished with a striking recycled copper cladding, designed by architects Levitt Bernstein Associates. On arrival into the building, guests are greeted by a spacious atrium crossed at upper floor levels by a series of bridges, seamlessly linking the new foyer with the existing main auditorium and other parts of the historic hall building.
The new spaces available for dry hire or day delegate event packages includes Bar level 3 and the adjoining terrace. This is situated at the top of the building with views across the city, perfect for an evening drinks reception, networking event or seminar, with the outside space a stunning BBQ setting. Bar Level 1 features a ceiling height of 6m making the space great for striking productions, whilst Hall 2 in the old building features a vintage stage for the ultimate wedding ceremony!
Naomi Easy, Colston Hall's sales and conference manager explained, "There are now eight spaces available for events from meetings for as few as two people in the new VIP Room through to the 1,800 capacity of Hall 1 which would suite a large conference. The Old Foyer is ideal for experiential showcases or quirky themed events, complete with its own vintage box office to create a sense of arrival.
"We welcome creativity in event planning and, being a concert hall, have an in-house production team on hand to bring events to life, from AV theming to sourcing exactly the right furnishings or fixtures. We also encourage companies to book their events when evening performances are taking place as we can do excellent rates as part of the package for all attendees."
