On June 10, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced that Turkey's gross domestic product (GDP) in the first quarter of the current year grew by 14.8 percent to TRY 407.31 billion ($184.18 billion) in current prices and by 4.3 percent in constant prices to TRY 29.21 billion ($13.98 billion), both compared to the first quarter of 2013.
On the other hand, in the first quarter of this year Turkey's seasonal and calendar adjusted GDP increased by 1.7 percent compared to the last quarter of 2013.
According to the TUIK data, Turkey's manufacturing sector contributed 25.7 percent in constant prices to Turkey's overall GDP in the first quarter of 2014.
