Mexican Car and Light Vehicle Industry Rose 34.5 Percent Compared to The Previous Month

In January this year, production in the Mexican car and light vehicle industry rose 34.5 percent compared to the previous month and was up 19.8 percent over January 2012, amounting to 242,855 units, according to the the Mexican Association of the Automobile Industry (AMIA).

Meanwhile, according to the data released by the Mexican Association of Car Distributors (AMDA), Mexican car and light commercial vehicle sales to the domestic market totaled 84,269 units in January this year, rising 11.9 percent year on year, while the country's car and light commercial vehicle exports amounted to 178,562 units, increasing 14.2 percent compared to January 2012.
