China's gross domestic product (GDP) indicated a year-on-year increase of 7.8 percent to RMB 51.9322 trillion ($8.3 trillion) in 2012, as announced by China’s National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
In the fourth quarter of 2012, China's GDP grew 2.0 percent compared to the third quarter and by 7.9 percent compared to the fourth quarter of 2011. In the third quarter, China's GDP had increased by 7.4 percent year on year.
The total industrial value-added output of China's large and medium-sized enterprises was up 10 percent in 2012 compared to the previous year, indicating a 3.9 percentage point decrease compared to the year-on-year growth rate registered in 2011.
