China recorded export value of CNY1.20 trillion (US$189 billion) and import value of CNY836.1 billion in August, respectively decreasing 6.1% and 14.3% on year, according to statistics released by China's General Administration of Customs on September 8.
January-August export value was CNY8.95 trillion and import value CNY6.72 trillion, slipping 1.6% and 14.6% respectively on year.
If calculated in USD, China's trade surplus in August reached US$60.2 billion, up from over US$43 billion in July.
Despite declining imports and exports, China officials have been adamant about 7% GDP growth in 2015.
