That US Raw Steel Production Fell 0.4 Percent in The Week Ending February 16

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported Monday that US raw steel production fell 0.4 percent in the week ending February 16, following a 1.2 percent increase the previous week.

Total raw steel production in the United States amounted to 1,814,000 net tons (nt) last week, representing a 0.4 percent drop from the 1,822,000 nt produced in the previous week and a 9.6 percent drop from the 2,007,000 nt produced in the same week a year ago.

The capacity utilization rate of US raw facilities was 75.7 percent in the week ending February 16, compared to 76.1 percent in the previous week and 80.7 percent in the same week last year.
