LED lighting is becoming an increasingly popular and energy efficient way of illuminating the home and your business.
In the last few years, people have begun to become much more clued up as to the monetary savings that can be made by installing the lights and as such the price of them has fallen, according to Electronics Bazaar.
LED lighting systems have witnessed a fall of around 30 per cent in their prices over the last two or three years, due to major improvements in technology, it has been claimed.
"With more and more applications of this energy saving lighting source, prices will further decline, which will make these products more affordable for the commercial and residential segments," Ramesh Chopra, vice chairman of the EFY Group was quoted as saying.
There is also an increasing trend in the market that has seen a larger shift towards manufacturing low and mid power LEDs because high power LED technology has not matured.
This has led to an increase in the number of people looking to purchase LED ceiling spotlights for their homes, though big businesses that have excellent know-how are making high power illuminations.
"Since most of the companies are trying to improve the lumen per dollar ratio so that the product becomes commercially viable, they are going for low and mid power LEDs," said Ravi AV, general manager of Nichia Corporation India.
There has also been a large increase in the use of LED streetlights and outdoor wall lights in recent times as councils throughout the UK try and take advantage of the monetary savings to be had from installing the energy efficient lights.
Indeed, Notts County Council recently confirmed that it would be trialling LED lights in place of its traditional streetlights in four residential streets as a way of seeing how much money can be saved in the long run.
