IRNA reported that Mr Hashem Namvar MD of Bandar Abbas Refinery Company said that company's crude oil refining capacity has increased 30,000 barrels per day.
Mr Namvar reiterated that "Earlier the production capacity of this refinery was 320,000 barrels per day. This addition was made possible thanks to implementing a production boosting project at Bandar Abbas Refinery."
He said that the economic gain due to implementing this project is USD 318,000 daily or USD 119 each year. Bandar Abbas Refinery produces 19% of the country's demand to oil products.
Bandar Abbas refinery, the biggest in the Middle East with refining capacity of 300,000 barrels per day was constructed in 7 square kilometer area near the city of Bandar Abbas in southern Iran. The feed of this refinery is heavy oil plus some condensate extracted from Sarkhoon gas treating plant.
Its daily products were planned to comprise 46,000 barrels of gasoline, 37,000 barrels of Kerosene and jet fuel about 67,000 barrels of furnace fuel about 70,000 barrels of gas oil, 5,000 barrels of tar, together with more than 7,000 barrels of LPG.
The products of this unit were expected partially to be exported as well as to meet the demands of the southern parts of Iran and moreover, to be partially transported to the central regions through the 450 kilometers long 26 Bandar Abbas.
